The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has received a complaint seeking an investigation into alleged tax evasion, undeclared income and financial irregularities involving the family members and close associates of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman.

The complaint names Senator Kamran Murtaza, Lutufur Rehman, Ziaur Rehman, Asad Mahmood and Abrar Ahmed Khan, calling for a detailed examination of their financial affairs.

The complainant has urged the FBR to investigate the assets, bank accounts and sources of income of all five individuals to determine whether they comply with tax laws.

The complaint specifically seeks scrutiny of Senator Kamran Murtaza’s multiple bank accounts held in local and foreign currencies, including an examination of their financial transactions.

It also calls for an investigation into Lutufur Rehman’s accounts across different banks and his business activities under applicable tax laws.

Regarding Ziaur Rehman, the complainant has raised questions over allegedly unexplained funds in multiple bank accounts and requested a detailed financial investigation.

The complaint further seeks scrutiny of Asad Mahmood’s bank accounts to establish whether any tax evasion has taken place.

Abrar Ahmed Khan has also been named, with the complainant requesting an examination of his bank accounts, travel and tours business and related financial dealings.

In addition, the application calls for an investigation into financial transactions involving various welfare, educational and commercial organisations linked to the named individuals.

The complainant has urged the FBR to compare the individuals’ declared assets, tax returns and banking transactions to identify any discrepancies, undeclared income or suspicious financial activity.

The application seeks an impartial investigation and legal action if violations of tax laws are established.

The allegations have now been brought before the FBR, with the complaint placing Fazlur Rehman’s family members and close associates under the tax authority’s scrutiny.
