A major fire erupted after a main gas pipeline burst in the Hattar Industrial Estate area of Haripur, KP, triggering panic across the industrial zone.
Rescue 1122 fire and rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the blaze and are currently engaged in intensive efforts to bring the fire under control.
Eyewitnesses viewed that the gas leak was extremely severe, with flames erupting instantly after the pipeline burst, causing chaos and alarm among workers and nearby residents. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as emergency operations continue.
Rescue officials stated that their priority is to prevent the fire from spreading further and to secure nearby industrial units, while the surrounding area has been evacuated to avoid any potential loss of life.
Immediately after the explosion, the area was sealed off, and people were warned about the danger. In addition, the gas supply was suspended to prevent any further accidents.
Meanwhile, in Punjab province, gas supply was suspended in several areas of the city yesterday due to a sudden technical fault in an 8-inch diameter gas pipeline at Jahangirabad. According to details, the supply was restored after emergency repair work was completed.
The Sui Gas administration stated that gas remained unavailable in various residential and commercial areas until 10 p.m. because of the malfunction. The affected areas included WAPDA Town Phase 1 and 2, Model Town 1 and 2, MDA Housing Society, Judicial Complex, Income Tax Colony, Shalimar Colony, Nasheman Colony, Sabzazar Colony, Lodhi Colony, Satellite Town (Bosan Road), and Pir Khurshid Colony.
In addition, several localities near Nawabpur Road and Bosan Road were also affected by the gas shutdown. These included Khan Colony, Nishat College Road, Pul Mondewali, Diwan Ka Bagh, Basti No. 1, Basti Mayson Wala, Lutfabad, Bacha Basti, Siddiqabad, Hatar Bosan, Mardanpur, and Jhok Vens. Other affected areas included Bach Villas, Salt Mahe, Neel Kot, and Hajipura.
