Five including 4 children injured as Afghan Mortar strikes house near Angoor Adda

The Afghan Taliban have once again shelled Pakistani civilian areas near Angoor Adda in South Waziristan, escalating tensions along the border.

According to sources, a mortar shell fired from across the border struck the home of residents Karim Khan and Rahmatullah, causing injuries to multiple family members.

At least five people were wounded in the explosion, including four children and one woman. The injured children are reported to be aged 13, 10, 8, and 3. In response, the Pakistan Army engaged the firing positions with both light and heavy weapons, after which the attackers reportedly fled.

All the injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital in Wana for treatment. Local residents have expressed deep sorrow and anger over the incident.

It is worth mentioning that just a few days earlier, three people were injured in the same area due to unprovoked firing from across the border.

Officials stated that the Afghan Taliban and affiliated militant elements like Fitna al Khwarij have repeatedly targeted civilians in pursuit of their objectives. Residents in the area have expressed concern over repeated cross-border incidents, calling for greater security and protection for civilians living near the frontier.

It is worth mentioning here that the Afghan Taliban have reportedly continued targeting civilian areas in Pakistan, leaving three people, including two women, seriously injured in South Waziristan in the current week.

According to details, three people, including two women, were seriously injured in Zalol village in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan. Reports suggest the incident occurred after unprovoked firing and artillery shelling from the Afghan Taliban.

Local sources said an artillery shell landed inside the village, injuring Rahimullah, his wife, and the wife of another resident, Zainullah. All the injured were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana for medical treatment.

Residents strongly condemned the incident, calling it an attack on innocent civilians, and demanded a strong response from authorities. They urged the government and security forces to ensure better protection for border communities, which have repeatedly faced such incidents.
