Fiza Ali received a notice from the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority after the authority sought an explanation from a private television channel over an incident that occurred during a live broadcast.
This incident gained attention when Fiza Ali’s spouse lifted her up onto his shoulders during a live morning show, and the act went viral on different social media platforms.
Following this incident, many social media users found the act to be inappropriate and suggested Fiza Ali’s show be taken down by PEMRA.
With the increasing social media activity, PEMRA observed the incident and requested a statement from the relevant channel.
The authority emphasised that all broadcasters should abide by the stated professional and ethical standards regarding the content they air.
In contrast, Fiza Ali claimed that the brief moment on social media went viral without context and people shared it in a negative way deliberately.

For her, that moment was informal and lighthearted and people have interpreted the moment in a completely wrong manner.
She further clarified that her work and the respect for her audience have always been given a priority.
She further stated that she will carry out her professional responsibilities with the same seriousness and responsibility in the future.
It was further stated by her that sometimes even after giving clarification situations are widely misinterpreted.
Which is why she believes that currently silence is the better option on such occasions.
At the end of her statement she stated that now she will be focusing on her personal and professional life. She also expressed good wishes for everyone.
