The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that public parking in Dubai will be free on Monday, June 15, 2026, on the occasion of the Hijri New Year holiday, according to reports today.

However, parking charges will still apply at multi storey parking facilities. Regular parking fees will return on Tuesday, June 16.
The Dubai Metro Red and Green Lines will run from 5 AM until midnight on June 15. Dubai Tram services will operate from 5 AM until 1 AM.
Some changes have also been made to bus services during the holiday, reports add. Bus Route E100 from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station to Abu Dhabi will remain suspended from June 13 to June 15.
Passengers who are travelling to Abu Dhabi during this period have been advised to use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station. The RTA has asked customers to check the S’hail app for the latest bus schedules.
Marine transport services will also follow a revised timetable during the holiday. Residents can also view updated schedules through RTA’s official platforms.
All RTA Customer Happiness Centres will remain closed on Monday, June 15. However, the centre in Umm Ramool and smart kiosks located in Deira, Al Barsha, Al Tawar, Al Kifaf and RTA Headquarters will continue to operate 24 hours a day, reports say.
Vehicle testing service centres will also be closed on Monday. Normal operations will resume from Tuesday, June 16.
Before this, the UAE authorities announced that Monday, June 15, 2026, would be a public holiday for federal government offices and private sector employees to mark the Hijri New Year 1448.
Schools, universities and both public and private early childhood centres will also remain closed on the day in Dubai.
The Islamic New Year marks the start of the Hijri calendar. It begins on the first day of Muharram, the opening month of the Islamic lunar year, and is confirmed through official moon sighting.
