The government of Kazakhstan has officially opened applications for its 2026 scholarship programme, offering Pakistani students a good opportunity to pursue higher education abroad.

According to details, the Kazakhstan Government Scholarship 2026 is now accepting applications for studies at leading universities across the country, many of which are ranked in global listings such as the QS World University Rankings.

Scholarship details

A total of 550 seats have been allocated under the programme, including:

  • 490 seats for Bachelor’s degree
  • 50 seats for Master’s degree
  • 10 seats for PhD programmes

Students from diverse academic backgrounds, including Science, Commerce, Arts, and Diploma holders, are eligible to apply. The programme also offers admission in General Medicine (MBBS).

Application process and deadline

The application window will remain open from March 30 to May 31, 2026 (Astana Time), and there is no application fee.

Applicants must first complete their profile on the official portal, upload required documents, and submit the application. This is followed by an online psychological assessment test.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview via email, while final results will be published on the official website. Applicants are advised to regularly check the portal, as no individual notifications will be sent.

Study benefits

The scholarship offers:

  • Free full-time tuition with no conditions
  • Monthly stipend:
    • Bachelor’s: $110
    • Master’s: around $220
    • PhD: $500 (expected to increase)

To continue receiving the stipend, students must maintain at least 70% marks in each semester.

Medium of study

Courses are offered in English, Russian, or Kazakh. While there is no separate preparatory language course, students may study Russian or Kazakh alongside their degree.

Expenses and accommodation

The scholarship does not cover accommodation or travel expenses. Students can either apply for university dormitories or arrange private housing at their own cost.

Monthly living expenses are estimated between $150 and $200, depending on lifestyle and accommodation type. Even with the stipend, students may need additional financial support ranging from $60 to $120 per month.

Other important information

  • Transport costs are subsidised for Bachelor’s students, with a flat bus fare of 60 KZT per ride, while others pay 120 KZT
  • Annual visa renewal for Pakistani students costs around $200
  • Part-time work is not officially allowed, and violations may lead to fines or deportation

Students selected for the programme will be contacted directly by their respective universities for further admission and visa procedures.
