GWM, operating under the Sazgar Group, has officially launched its new fully electric compact SUV, the ORA 5, in Pakistan.

It is the third vehicle from the ORA series to be introduced in the Pakistani market and is positioned between the ORA 3 and ORA 7.

The ORA 5 is equipped with a 58.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a driving range of up to 435 kilometres under the WLTP standard.

Its single front-wheel-drive electric motor produces 201 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in just eight seconds.

The company has set the ex-factory price of the ORA 5 at Rs8.599 million, while bookings have opened with an initial payment of Rs1.7 million.

In the Pakistani market, the ORA 5 will compete with Chinese electric SUVs such as the BYD Atto 3 and Jaecoo J6, which are available in a similar price range.

According to the company, the ORA 5 comes with a range of advanced features, including a 14.6-inch 2K touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50-watt fast wireless charger, a 360-degree surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, a driver-monitoring system, a panoramic glass roof, an electric tailgate and heat-pump air conditioning.
