At least 12 people were killed and 14 others injured in rain-related incidents and flash floods across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said.
According to the PDMA, the deceased include six men, five children, and one woman, while the injured comprise eight men, two women, and five children.
The heavy rains and flash floods also damaged 14 houses, including one that was completely destroyed and 13 that suffered partial damage.
Losses were reported in Peshawar, Khyber, Mardan, Buner, Bajaur, Lower Chitral, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Torghar, and Kurram districts.
The PDMA has directed district administrations in the affected areas to ensure the immediate provision of relief supplies and accelerate rescue and relief operations.
The authority said water levels in all major rivers and streams across the province remain within normal limits. However, intermittent rainfall is expected to continue until July 23.
District administrations have been instructed to remain on high alert and implement precautionary measures. Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from vulnerable tourist destinations.
