Weather alert: Heavy rain, stormy conditions expected

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert warning of rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms across various parts of the country over the next 3 to 6 hours.

According to the advisory, hail and lightning may also occur in some areas during this weather system. Citizens are urged to remain cautious as unstable weather conditions are expected to persist during this period.

Clouds developed over various parts of Balochistan

Clouds have developed over various parts of Balochistan province, and according to the alert, rain is expected in several areas. Thunderstorms are likely in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Pishin, Qila Saifullah, and surrounding regions.

Westerly winds enter Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

A series of westerly winds is also entering Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, due to which rain with strong winds has been forecast for Peshawar, Swat, Chitral, Dir, Mardan, and Waziristan.

The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert for both southern and northern Punjab, stating that rain is likely in Layyah, Bhakkar, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Taunsa. Strong winds and thundershowers are also expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to stay away from open areas, electricity poles, and trees during thunderstorms. Tourists in the upper regions have also been advised to exercise caution to avoid any untoward incidents.

This new weather system is bringing pleasant changes in some areas, while also increasing the need for safety and precautionary measures.
