Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that he quietly received prostate cancer treatment and shared his medical examination details on Friday. It is the first time in Israel’s history that its prime minister confirmed his cancer diagnosis.
Israel’s Prime Minister’s office confirmed that Benjamin Netanyahu had undergone prostate surgery in December 2024. However, after his recent check-up, Benjamin Netanyahu revealed online in a social media post that doctors diagnosed a tumour in his prostate.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s office also released two updated letters as a medical report of Benjamin Netanyahu. “This is an early detection of a very small lesion, with no metastases, as all other tests confirmed beyond any doubt,” one letter said.
In the last medical check-up, Netanyahu had not revealed details about the cancer. However, an Israeli source familiar with the matter told CNN that doctors diagnosed prostate cancer in Netanyahu several months ago.
The source also confirmed that after the cancer diagnosis, Netanyahu underwent radiation therapy, and the medical check-up was completed recently.
Radiation therapy
Benjamin Netanyahu said he chose to undergo targeted radiation therapy and added that the affected spot has completely disappeared.
He said on social media, “Thank God, I am healthy,” adding that he had a minor prostate issue that has now been fully treated. He also explained that he delayed releasing his annual medical report by two months because he did not want Iran to use it for propaganda.
