Students from Pakistan will now have the chance to study at some of the world’s most prestigious universities in the United States with the opportunity of a fully-funded doctoral scholarship under the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor Programme announced by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The official statement posted on Saturday reveals the scheme is aimed at admission to universities in the top 100 QS World University Rankings.

The amount of financial assistance will depend on the university’s ranking. Applicants admitted in universities in the top 50 will be fully funded.

This covers the entire tuition fee, a monthly stipend to cover living costs and health insurance.

Candidates admitted to universities between 51 and 100 in the rankings will receive some financial assistance with tuition fees, up to $12,000 annually, and a stipend and health insurance.

The scheme aims to improve the higher education landscape in Pakistan through research and academic improvements.

By supporting students to pursue higher education in world-class universities, the scheme seeks to boost knowledge transfer, promote high-level research capabilities and foster a more competitive domestic academic environment.

The applicants must complete the application form through the scholarship portal by April 30, 2026.

The HEC has urged eligible students to apply now, and ensure they meet all the criteria within the given timeframe.

The scholarship scheme is part of the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor Project, a project initiated to foster educational cooperation.

It aims to provide more opportunities to Pakistani students and academics, which in turn will drive future education and research programs.
