The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has given a major relief to graduates and students by making its degree attestation system completely online and paperless.
Making it easier for students across the country to get their degrees attested.
Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, HEC Chairman has announced that the students will no longer need to visit HEC offices for degree attestation. The entire process has now been shifted to a digital system.
Interestingly, according to the announcement, the attestation service for the degree will now be available online 24 hours a day.
The service is also going to allow graduate students to submit their requests at any time from anywhere in the country.
The condition for requiring students to carry original educational certificates for verification has also been removed by the HEC.
The whole process has now completely shifted to digital and online verification. The system has become extremely convenient for young applicants.
The possibility of online verification of degrees will now make the degree attestation process smoother, easier, faster and more transparent.
The new system of e-attestation came into effect nationwide from May 11, 2026. Students have taken this development as very positive.
The initiative has been described by the HEC Chairman as a revolutionary step. It is aimed at facilitating fresh graduates and students.
The verification of education documents in Pakistan has now become fully digital across Pakistan.
In another related development the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has also decided to introduce joint and dual degree programmes in universities across Pakistan.
According to the HEC officials, students will now be allowed to study two different degree programmes at the same time. It will not be needed for both degrees to be from the same department or subject area.
