Holidays announced across Sindh: see dates

The Sindh government has announced two holidays for Hindu employees across the province on Monday.

When will Sindh observe Holi holidays 2026?

The holidays will be observed on March 3 and March 4 for the festival of Holi, according to the announcement by the Sindh government.

In a separate announcement, the Khairpur administration has declared a public holiday on March 4 for the 205th Urs of Sachal Sarmast.

All government and semi government offices in the district will remain closed on that day, according to the details.

The official Urs celebrations will be held on 14th Ramzan.

The provincial government said the holidays will give Hindu employees time to take part in their religious rituals and traditional celebrations.

Eid-ul-Fitr, spring holidays announced

Educational institutions will remain closed for Eid ul Fitr 2026 and the spring season holidays.

According to an official notification, Punjab University will stay closed from Friday, March 20, 2026, to Monday, March 23, 2026, for Eid ul Fitr holidays.

During these four days, all teaching and administrative departments, offices, institutes, centres, affiliated colleges and schools will all remain closed.

The university administration has also said that the decision was made to help students and staff celebrate Eid ul Fitr with their families and observe the religious festival comfortably.

After Eid holidays, the university will observe its Spring Recess. All teaching departments, institutes, centres, constituent colleges and schools will remain closed from Tuesday, March 24, 2026, to Friday, March 27, 2026, for the spring break.

Classes and academic activities will start again on Monday, March 30, 2026. These continuous holidays will give students time to celebrate Eid and also rest before returning to studies.

However, the notification clarified that administrative staff will resume their duties from Tuesday, March 24, 2026, right after the Eid holidays end.

Eid ul fitr holiday 2026 in Pakistan

Eid ul Fitr, 1st Shawal 1447 AH, is expected to be observed from March 21 to March 23, depending on the official moon sighting announcement.

Similarly, Eid ul fitr 2026 holidays are expected to be officially confirmed closer to the date.
