How many Pakistanis imprisoned in Italy?

As many as 353 Pakistanis, including three women, are currently imprisoned in Italy.

This was revealed in the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development. The committee met under the chairmanship of Agha Rafiullah.

The committee was informed that 353 Pakistanis, including three women, are currently imprisoned in Italy. Officials said the Pakistani embassy is extending full assistance and support to the incarcerated individuals.

In addition, authorities stated that the bodies of 150 Pakistanis were repatriated from Milan, Italy, without any expenditure by the government.

NADRA desk activated in Milan

A NADRA desk has also been activated in Milan to provide documentation and other related services to the Pakistani community.

The committee was informed that Spain’s new immigration policy will remain in effect from April to June this year, as lawmakers reviewed issues concerning Pakistani nationals residing in Europe.

During the meeting, the chairman expressed displeasure over the fact that the post of Community Welfare Attaché in Spain has remained vacant for the past six years. He directed the relevant authorities to ensure that the contact numbers of Community Welfare Attachés are made available on the official website to facilitate overseas Pakistanis.

The committee emphasised the need for improved coordination and stronger institutional support to address the concerns of overseas Pakistanis, particularly in European countries.
