As many as 753,813 students have failed the Class 9 examinations across Punjab, according to data from the province’s nine education boards.
A total of 1,395,475 students appeared in the Class 9 examinations, meaning more than half of the students who took the exams were unsuccessful.
The Lahore Board recorded the highest number of failures, with 150,133 students failing out of 280,676 candidates who appeared in the examinations.
The Gujranwala Board reported 133,286 failures among 249,252 students, while 95,948 students failed out of 196,656 candidates under the Faisalabad Board.
In other boards, 76,015 students failed out of 121,739 who appeared in Rawalpindi, while 67,374 failed among 140,675 candidates in Multan.
The Bahawalpur Board recorded 64,990 failures out of 105,601 students, while 61,857 students failed out of 107,782 candidates in Sargodha.
Meanwhile, 54,920 students failed out of 106,001 candidates in Dera Ghazi Khan, while the Sahiwal Board recorded 49,290 failures among 87,093 students.
The figures highlight a high failure rate in the Class 9 examinations across several education boards in Punjab.
