Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has selected renowned fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY) to create its new cabin crew uniforms, marking a major step in the national carrier’s rebranding and service enhancement plans.

According to a PIA spokesperson, the airline invited the country’s leading fashion designers to Karachi last month to submit proposals for the new uniforms as part of a nationwide design initiative.

The winning designs were selected on the basis of innovation, quality and their ability to showcase PIA’s identity while reflecting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.

The new HSY-designed uniforms will be officially unveiled during the maiden flight of PIA’s new Boeing 787 aircraft. The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart from London for Islamabad on October 31, where cabin crew dressed in the new uniforms will welcome passengers onboard.

PIA said the uniform launch is part of a broader transformation under the airline’s new management, which aims to improve passenger experience through modern aircraft equipped with advanced entertainment systems, refurbished cabins and seats on existing aircraft, the recruitment of new crew members and an upgraded onboard menu.

The airline described the new uniforms as an important milestone in PIA’s journey towards modernisation, reflecting its renewed focus on innovation, service quality and a refreshed brand identity.
