Police and district authorities in Hunza have taken action against a private hotel after a video showing a dance party at the venue went viral on social media.
The footage, which quickly attracted widespread attention, appears to show men and women dancing together at a private event with a DJ and music.
The video triggered a strong reaction on social media, prompting Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hunza Fayyaz Ahmed Khan to take notice of the incident.
Following his direction, the district administration sealed the hotel in Aliabad where the event was reportedly held.
Officials have also taken action against people allegedly involved in organising the gathering, with some individuals reportedly taken into custody as part of the inquiry.
Authorities have also initiated action against the hotel’s management.
Officials have not publicly disclosed the name of the hotel or provided full details about the individuals detained.
Claims circulating on social media have also alleged that intoxicating substances were being used during the event.
These allegations have not been independently verified, and authorities have not, at this stage, publicly confirmed the presence of drugs.
The viral video shows attendees dancing at the private gathering, with several participants wearing revealing or unconventional clothing. The video has fuelled debate online over activities being held at private hotels in the region.
DC Hunza Fayyaz Ahmed said the administration would not allow activities it considers immoral or involving the promotion of obscenity.
The authorities’ response comes after the video generated significant public reaction and renewed discussion about regulation and public conduct at private venues in Hunza.
Further action is expected once the authorities complete their investigation into the event and the people involved.
