Power supplies to several areas of Islamabad will be suspended on Friday, September 25, as work continues on a number of development projects, the officials of the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) announced.
According to the post on X, formerly known as Twitter, IESCO has scheduled the outages to take place from 08:00 to 12:00 local time and will affect several feeders and adjoining areas.
The affected feeders include Punjab House, Bari Imam, Pir Sohawa, Saidpur, Islamabad Club-1, Islamabad Club-2, Mahfooz Shaheed/Shehzad Town, Filtration Plant, Pindorian Scheme-2, Orchard Scheme and CDA Pump.
IESCO said the temporary shutdown is required to allow electricity poles and other installations to be relocated as part of development work being carried out by the district administration.
The projects include the construction of flyovers and underpasses, installation of new 11kV feeders and road-widening work.
The electricity company apologised to consumers for the temporary disruption and said the work would be carried out during the scheduled shutdown period.
