Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a travel advisory for Pakistani pilgrims travelling to Iran and Iraq, urging them to confirm their flight schedules before departure.
According to the ministry’s spokesperson, pilgrims should verify flights to Iran and Iraq in advance, avoid relying on unconfirmed services and make alternative travel arrangements where necessary.
The advisory specifically urges pilgrims travelling to Tehran, Mashhad and Najaf to confirm their flights before setting out. Registered pilgrims and group organisers have also been advised against relying on unverified flights to Iran.
Direct flights between Iraq and Pakistan resume
Meanwhile, direct flights between Iraq and Pakistan have resumed after a temporary suspension, with the first Fly Baghdad flight arriving at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.
Airport authorities said flight IF331 arrived in Karachi from Baghdad carrying more than 100 passengers.
Fly Baghdad had suspended its flights to Pakistan for a period amid regional tensions and the conflict in the region.
Flights between Iraq and Pakistan had previously resumed on May 25, 2026, but were suspended again due to the prevailing situation.
The resumption of direct services is expected to provide additional travel options for Pakistani pilgrims visiting Iraq, although passengers have been advised to confirm their flight status before departure.
