Imran Khan’s Year-Long Silence on Palestine Raises Questions

Imran Khan Palestine , Gaza, Palestine, PTI Founder,

Gaza, the war torn enclave is nothing less than pile of rubble and considered as the worst tragedy occurred in the modern history.

It is the world’s first genocide telivised live on our phones and TV screens. Livestreaming footage of bombed hospitals and schools televised on Instagram, while the disastrous shortage of drinking water shown on the feeds.

In contrast to other genocides in the past, the suferring in Gaza has been condemned by leaders and influencial figures across the world. From Australia to United States, leaders have lashed out at Israel for brutal strikes in Gaza.

The government of Pakistan have also been vocal in calling out Israel’s crime against humanity. In an official statement the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated “Pakistan strongly condemns Israel’s military aggression against Rafah city in Gaza and the resulting destruction and massacre of the Palestinian people.

Israel’s offensive in Rafah violates the provisional measures indicated by the International Court of Justice to protect the people of Gaza from genocide. It will further aggravate the humanitarian disaster witnessed in Gaza over the last 4 months and jeopardize the ongoing efforts for a potential ceasefire.

We urge the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to take urgent measures to bring an immediate end to Israeli aggression and its incessant crimes against humanity.”

However, one leader who claims to be a voice of 80 percent of Pakistanis, the former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan stays silent on the suffering of innocent lives in Gaza.

The PTI founder is active on his social media, often makes anti state comments and posted over 480 statements. However Khan managed to issue only nine statements on Palestine after October 7, 2023.

Imran Khan’s silence on Palestine for a year has raised some serious questions regarding his take on one of the worst humanitarian crises in the modern history.
