Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced a temporary gas shutdown in several areas of Islamabad due to work on a major gas route.
The gas supply will remain suspended from 9:00 PM on October 19, 2026, until 6:00 AM on October 20, 2026.
Which areas will be affected?
According to SNGPL, the affected areas include Sector G-7, Blue Area, Ghouri Town, Faizabad Bypass Road service road east, and Lehtrar Road from Khanna Pul to Burma Town.
The shutdown will also affect Sohan, Gulberg Town, Shakrial, Garden Town, and nearby areas.
What should residents do?
Residents in the affected areas have been advised to make other arrangements for their gas needs during the shutdown.
SNGPL has also asked consumers to cooperate during the scheduled work to help avoid any inconvenience.
Gas suspension announced in Karachi
Separately, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a temporary gas suspension on Karachi’s Sher Shah mainline for repair work. The shutdown may cause low gas pressure in several nearby areas.
According to SSGC, the gas supply will remain suspended from 10:00 PM on Saturday until 9:00 AM on Sunday.
The repair work will be carried out on the 24-inch Sher Shah mainline. The company has warned that several neighbourhoods may face low gas pressure during this time.
Which areas will be affected?
The areas that may face low gas pressure include Baldia Town, Ittehad Town, Saeedabad, Naval Colony, Musharraf Colony, Mawach Goth, Gulshan-e-Bahar, Gulshan-e-Zia, Sector 16, Ghaziabad, Altaf Nagar, Mehran City, Ramzan Goth, and SITE Industrial Area.
Gas shortages have also increased in different parts of Karachi. Domestic consumers are facing scheduled gas suspensions in the morning, afternoon, and at night.
Gas suspension in Rawalpindi
Meanwhile, gas supply also remained suspended in several areas of Rawalpindi city and cantonment from 8:00 PM on Saturday due to construction work on the Peshawar Road underpass.
The affected areas include both sides of Murree Road from Saddar to Faizabad. Peshawar Road from Golra Mor to Saddar will also face a gas suspension.
Several areas along Adiala Road and GT Road will also be affected. These include Qasim Market and Westridge.
