A 25-year-old man died while taking a physical test for recruitment into Islamabad Police on Wednesday. He suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness while running during the physical test.
According to Islamabad Police, the candidate was identified as Ishaq. Police said Ishaq was from Sarai Naurang in Lakki Marwat.
An ambulance took him to the emergency department of PIMS Hospital. However, doctors said he died on the way to the hospital.
In a statement shared on X, Islamabad Police said DIG Safe City and DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joiya visited the recruitment test centre at Police Lines Headquarters.
He reviewed the physical and running tests along with the security and other arrangements.
He instructed the staff to provide the best possible facilities to candidates, treat them politely and closely monitor every stage of the recruitment process.
The post on social media platform X read, ‘DG Safe City/DIG Traffic Muhammad Haroon Joya is present at the Police Lines Headquarters Recruitment Test Centre. While reviewing physical and running tests, security, and other arrangements, he issued instructions to the staff deployed at the centre to ensure the provision of the best facilities for candidates, courteous behaviour, and continuous monitoring of all stages of the recruitment process.’
Islamabad Police said that the physical and running tests are continuing at the F-9 and Police Lines recruitment centres.

Islamabad police launches online appointment system
Recently, the Islamabad Police launched a new Online Appointment System to make it easier for people to access police services and reduce waiting times at Police Khidmat Markaz (PKM) centres.
With the new system, people can book appointments online for different Police Khidmat Markaz services and driving licence services without visiting the centre first.
To book an appointment, applicants need to visit the official Islamabad Police website, choose the service they need, and select a suitable date and time for their visit.
