The Islamabad Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory, informing commuters that several major roads in the federal capital will face temporary diversions due to the movement of a foreign delegation on July 28, 29.
According to the advisory, traffic diversions will be placed on Murree Road, Club Road, Express Highway, Jinnah Avenue (from Jinnah Avenue to Khayaban Chowk), and Garden Avenue during the delegation’s movement.
Motorists have been advised to use alternate routes to avoid delays:
- For Murree Road and Express Highway diversions: Use Srinagar Highway, IJP Road, or Ninth Avenue.
- For Jinnah Avenue diversions: Use Margalla Road or Seventh Avenue.
- For Garden Avenue diversions: Use Srinagar Highway.
The traffic police has urged citizens travelling between Islamabad and Rawalpindi to plan their journeys in advance and allow an additional 15 to 20 minutes of travel time.
Islamabad Traffic Police personnel will remain deployed on the roads to facilitate commuters and manage traffic flow. Citizens have also been advised to follow the official social media pages of Islamabad Police for the latest traffic updates and route information.
In a separate development earlier, a petrol pump in the I-9 sector of the federal capital of the country, Islamabad, was sealed on Friday after a citizen claimed that the workers there filled 61 litres of petrol in a car that had a capacity of only 50 litres.
The citizen filed a complaint with the Assistant Commissioner Industrial Area, according to the reports.
A magistrate then visited the petrol pump after receiving the complaint and looked into the matter. During the inspection, officials found the complaint to be correct and took action against the pump.
The administration sealed the petrol pump and arrested its manager as well.
Additionally, a fine was imposed because of the alleged violation. Officials said that if anyone was found cheating customers or changing fuel measurement systems, they would face strict legal action.
The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad has also directed the concerned departments to act quickly on public complaints.
Additionally, they have been directed to make sure businesses that provide essential services follow government rules.
