Banned JAAC leader Sardar Aman seeks India's support after failure of AJK’s procession

The central leader of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), Sardar Aman, has sought India’s support after Sunday’s procession in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) failed.

During the protest, Sardar Aman made a baseless and false claim that food supplies had been suspended for the past three weeks, leading to shortages. He also appealed to the people of Poonch, Mendhar, Rajouri, and Doda in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

On the 26th day of the protest, Sardar Aman made further unsubstantiated allegations against Pakistan and its institutions. He told the people of Poonch, Mendhar, Rajouri, and Doda to seek help from the people of India and Jammu. He also incited the crowd toward violence, stating that if the government does not meet the people’s demands, then they have other options available.

All the claims made by Sardar Aman are false and baseless. These allegations were also rejected during a joint press conference held by the Chief Secretary of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and the Inspector General of Police on June 23.

The authorities stated that, at some locations, elements of the banned JAAC attempted to stop and loot trucks carrying goods into Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Law enforcement agencies took prompt action and secured the vehicles and their cargo.

They further said that all major highways remained open for traffic of all kinds, and the supply of essential goods continued without interruption. The claims that police or the administration forced citizens to waste food, medicines, or fuel are not consistent with the facts. Instead, authorities maintained that miscreants linked to the banned JAAC were involved in looting vehicles.
