Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has urged the government to leave the Gaza Board of Peace sharply condemning US President Donald Trump.
During a press conference in Islamabad, Hafiz Naeem accused the United States and Israel of initiating a war against Iran and perpetrating human rights abuses.
The JI chief stated that Iran is being targeted for its support of Gaza in its struggle against Israel.
He also claimed that 165 schoolgirls lost their lives at the beginning of the conflict and denounced the actions of Washington and Tel Aviv as criminal.
JI chief urges Muslim countries to unite for Iran
The JI chief called upon Muslim-majority countries to unite in support of Iran, arguing that Israel’s larger aim extends beyond Tehran to encompass Pakistan and its nuclear capabilities.
“This is not solely Iran’s battle, it is also relevant to Pakistan,” he emphasised, stating that Israel must be confronted in Iran to prevent any further regional expansion of its influence.
The JI chief urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to recognise that joining the Board of Peace was a mistake and to lead initiatives for Pakistan’s withdrawal in conjunction with other Islamic nations.
Earlier, in a post on X, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated Netanyahu attempted to divert attention away from Gaza by attacking Iran.
Hafiz Naeem cautioned that if regime change were enforced in Iran and a compliant government were established, Israeli influence could reach Pakistan’s borders.
