K-Electric has announced planned electricity outages across dozens of areas in Karachi on Thursday, July 23.

The department has reasoned the power outage with scheduled maintenance on its transmission network.

The electric company said that the power supply would be temporarily suspended in affected localities to allow maintenance work to be carried out safely.

The officials of the department quoted that feeders serving the designated areas would remain switched off during the operation.

The affected areas include Abad Builders, Ali Daulat, Al-Mahmal, Al-Murtaza, Ayubia Commercial Phase 7 Extension, Bosay, BRR Modaraba, Capital Housing Society, Crown Garden, Dawood Cotton, DHA Golf Club, Embassy Villa, Glass Tower, Greenland City, Gul Bahar, Nazimabad College, Noor Housing, North Bypass, Old Golimar, Pasban Masjid, PNR Colony, Quetta Town, Salman Garden, Sea View, Shah Faisal Town, SUPARCO, Talha Cottages and Tauheed Colony, along with surrounding neighbourhoods.

K-Electric said the duration of the outages would vary by location. In some areas, electricity will remain suspended from 7:00am to 5:00pm, while others are expected to experience outages between 8:00am and 6:00pm.

The company said electricity supply is expected to be restored between 7:00pm and 8:00pm, meaning some consumers could face interruptions lasting more than 10 hours.

Residents have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance, particularly those relying on electricity for work, medical equipment or water supply. K-Electric also urged consumers to check its official outage schedule for the exact timings applicable to their areas.
