In a tragic shooting incident between two groups over an alleged illegal gold mine in Kohat district, four people were killed while three others, including a passer-by, were injured.
The shooting incident took place in Darbo Kach, within the jurisdiction of Gambat police station, where two groups allegedly opened fire on each other following a dispute over a gold mine.
According to local sources, panic spread among people present in the area during the firing, while three people, including a passer-by, were injured after being caught in the line of fire. Police reached the scene after being informed of the incident and cordoned off the area.
The bodies of the deceased and the injured were shifted to a medical centre, where the injured are being provided medical treatment. Tension gripped the area following the incident, while police launched an investigation to determine those involved in the shooting and the motives behind the incident.
According to sources, differences had existed between the two groups regarding gold mining at the said location, and the shooting incident is also being described as a result of the same dispute.
