At least six people were killed after the roof of a three-storey house collapsed in Lahore’s Harbanspura area on Wednesday, rescue officials said.

The incident occurred in Muhammad Din Colony, where the collapse trapped several residents beneath the rubble. Police confirmed that six bodies had been recovered, while rescue teams pulled 10 injured people from the debris and shifted them to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police said three families were living in the three-storey building. Rescue officials added that the roof was constructed using mud and T-R girders, making it vulnerable to collapse.

The tragedy comes amid a series of roof collapse incidents reported across Lahore during the recent spell of heavy monsoon rains, including in Shalimar Road, Shadab Colony, and Kahna.

Earlier, the wall of a private school collapsed in the Bagbanpura area of Lahore, leaving one child dead and five others injured after being buried under the debris.

The school roof collapsed during a summer camp in Bagbanpura, resulting in the death of a 10-year-old child and injuries to four labourers, while all other children remained safe.

Doctors confirmed the death of 10-year-old Abubakar, while the injured labourers are receiving medical treatment.

The tragic incident occurred during extension work at the school, when the roof suddenly came crashing down. A summer camp was underway at the time, and a large number of children were present, but all other children were fortunately safe.
