The Lahore High Court (LHC) has revised the working hours of civil and sessions courts across Punjab for the winter season, with the new schedule taking effect on November 1, 2026, and remaining in place until March 31, 2027.

According to an official notification, courts will operate from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm from Monday to Thursday, while proceedings on Fridays will conclude at 1:00 pm, with court hours set from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The revised schedule applies to civil and sessions courts throughout the province. Lawyers, litigants and other visitors have been advised to plan their court appearances and legal matters according to the new timings.

Meanwhile, the Punjab School Education Department has also revised school timings for the winter season. The new schedule came into effect on October 16, 2026, and will remain applicable until March 31, 2027.

Under the revised schedule, single-shift public schools will operate from 8:45 am to 1:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, classes will end at 12:30 pm. For double-shift schools, the morning shift will run from 8:45 am to 1:15 pm from Monday to Thursday and until 12:30 pm on Fridays. The afternoon shift will operate from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm from Monday to Thursday, while Friday timings will be from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

The revised schedules are intended to accommodate winter-season arrangements across judicial and educational institutions in Punjab. Lawyers, litigants, parents and students are advised to follow the respective notifications and adjust their routines accordingly. People scheduled to appear in court should also confirm their hearing dates and timings with the relevant court office or their legal counsel to avoid inconvenience.
