VP Vance on ‘standby’ as US delegation heads to Pakistan

JD Vance 'looking forward' to negotiations

White House Press Secretary of the United States (US) Karoline Leavitt, speaking to the media, said that “Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will be heading to Pakistan tomorrow.”

She added further, “We hope that positive developments will come from this meeting.”

She added that Vice President JD Vance will remain in the United States for updates and is on standby to travel to Pakistan if necessary.

Prior to this, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Syed Abbas Araghchi, confirmed his visit to Islamabad.

He took to the social media platform X to announce this, stating, “The purpose of my visits is to closely coordinate with our partners on bilateral matters and consult on regional developments.”
