The rising prices of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in different cities across Pakistan have added to the financial difficulties of consumers, with the fuel being sold at Rs550 to Rs650 per kilogram in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and several other areas. Meanwhile, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder has also crossed Rs6,000.
According to sources, LPG prices in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have reached Rs570 to Rs580 per kilogram, forcing household consumers to spend significantly more to meet their daily fuel requirements.
In Lahore, LPG prices have also climbed sharply, with the gas being sold at Rs550 to Rs650 per kilogram.
Consumers are facing a double financial burden as they have to pay regular gas bills while also purchasing expensive LPG cylinders due to shortages of natural gas. The situation has placed additional pressure on already strained household budgets.
In Quetta, LPG prices continue to rise. The fuel is being sold at Rs550 to Rs600 per kilogram in central areas of the city, while prices in suburban localities range between Rs600 and Rs640 per kilogram.
The rising cost of LPG and other essential commodities has further increased household expenses for residents.
Meanwhile, people in Peshawar and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are also facing difficulties due to increased gas load-shedding.
In Mandi Bahauddin, the continuous increase in LPG prices has also raised concerns among consumers. Daily-wage workers and lower-middle-income households are struggling to meet their routine expenses as they are forced to purchase gas at higher rates.
The high cost of LPG across different cities has increased the financial burden on households trying to meet their basic needs. Gas shortages, prolonged load-shedding and expensive LPG have further compounded the difficulties faced by ordinary consumers.
