Renowned Karachi-based Islamic scholar, preacher and naat reciter Maulana Muhammad Akram Saeedi has passed away after succumbing to injuries sustained in a tragic road accident near Multan.

His death has triggered an outpouring of grief across religious and social circles, with scholars, students and followers from across Pakistan expressing condolences and praying for his forgiveness and elevated status in the hereafter.

According to sources, Maulana Saeedi was travelling when he met with a road accident near Multan and suffered critical injuries. He was shifted to a hospital for treatment but could not survive.

Maulana Saeedi was associated with Jamia Masjid and Darul Uloom Diyar-e-Habib in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Karachi, where he had served as imam and khateeb for many years. He was widely known for his well-reasoned sermons, engaging style of preaching, religious scholarship and naat recitation. His lectures attracted large audiences both on social media and at religious gatherings across the country.

He devoted much of his life to teaching the Holy Quran and Sunnah, promoting moral values and contributing to the religious education of young people. His sermons consistently emphasised moderation, ethics, Muslim unity and Islamic teachings, earning him widespread respect in religious circles.

Following news of his death, social media was flooded with condolence messages. Religious scholars, clerics, students and admirers from different schools of thought paid tribute to his lifelong services to Islam, saying he played a significant role in religious education, community guidance and the promotion of Quranic and Prophetic teachings.
