A fire broke out in the office of the Mayor of Karachi at the KMC Head Office located on M.A. Jinnah Road.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) office caught fire, as a result of which the office of the Mayor of Karachi was completely burnt.
According to a private media channel, a fire broke out in the kitchen adjacent to the office of the Mayor of Karachi, located at the KMC Head Office on M.A. Jinnah Road, which quickly engulfed the entire portion.
As a result of the fire at the KMC Head Office, the office of Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab was completely burnt.
Rescue officials said that 2 fire tenders took part in the operation to bring the fire under control, and the fire has been brought under control.
According to officials, no loss of life occurred in the incident, while further investigations are underway.
The incident comes a day after three people, including a woman, reportedly suffered breathing difficulties when a fire broke out at an old-clothes factory in the Landhi Export Processing Zone (EPZ) on Monday.
The fire was deemed to be a third-degree fire and additional firefighting resources were required, according to a fire brigade spokesman. A total of 11 KMC fire tenders, two water tankers and a snorkel were deployed to control the fire.
A devastating fire claimed over 70 lives in the popular three-story shopping mall, Gul Plaza, in Karachi earlier this year, raising concerns about the safety issues prevailing in the country’s biggest city.
It had close to 1200 businesses occupying its basement and three upper floors. It had a variety of products to sell like wedding dresses, toys, household articles, baby dresses, and many more to the citizens of Karachi. The blaze completely destroyed much of the mall and its merchandise.
