Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has released the schedule for Online registration of Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 and exam date.
As per the schedule, MDCAT 2026 will be held on August 16 at 10:00 AM, for which student registration will start from June 22.
The last date for online registration for MD CAT 2026 has been set as July 8, while late registration is possible till July 13, for which an additional fee will be applicable.
The MDCAT registration fee in Pakistan has been set at Rs 9,000 while for students abroad it is Rs45000. The late registration fee will be Rs 13,000, which is non-refundable.
Exam format
MDCAT will include 180 multiple-choice questions, 81 questions will be from Biology, 45 from Chemistry and 36 from Physics, while 9 questions each from English and Logical Reasoning will be part of the exam.
There will be no negative marking.
Examination centers will be set up in several cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta.
According to the PMDC, the MDCAT exam in Sindh will be conducted by Sukkur IBA University, in Punjab by University of Health Sciences Lahore, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by Khyber Medical University and in Balochistan by Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences.
The exam in Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Riyadh will be held under the management of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University.
According to the PMDC, candidates from Sindh will be able to appear for the exam at centres established in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Larkana, while candidates from Punjab will take the test in 14 different cities.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, exam centres will be set up in eight cities including Peshawar, Mardan, Swat and Abbottabad, while candidates from Balochistan will be able to take the exam in Quetta. A separate test centre will also be established in Riyadh for international candidates.
The statement said that once an exam centre is selected, it cannot be changed later. Candidates will be able to choose the examination center only according to their province or domicile.
Candidates will also have to complete online registration through the MDCAT portal, while incomplete applications will not be accepted. The MDCAT syllabus and other details will be available on the PMDC website.
An international examination center for MDCAT 2026 has also been set up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. MDCAT will be conducted under PM&DC for MBBS and BDS admissions.
