The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has launched a new training program for small businesses in Pakistan on Thursday. The program has been started in partnership with global technology company Meta.
The Small Business Growth Academy (SBGA) will offer free training to small and medium-sized businesses across the country.
The main purpose is to help business owners use digital tools and AI to grow their businesses.
What will the training cover?
The program will teach business owners about digital marketing and online branding. They will also learn how to create content and run targeted advertisements.
Participants will also get practical training on AI tools. These tools can help businesses improve their daily work and increase productivity.
The academy will train more than 1,000 SMEs across Pakistan. Business owners will learn how to use Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp Business to reach customers and promote their products.
The training will also help businesses improve their online presence. Its purpose is to help them increase sales and reach customers in Pakistan as well as other countries.
Registration now open
Registration for the Small Business Growth Academy is already open. Training sessions are expected to start in September 2026.
Women-led businesses and entrepreneurs have also been encouraged to apply for the program.
The Ministry of IT has advised interested business owners to register early and take advantage of the free training.
HEC announces four-day AI training
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a four-day training program to improve AI skills among university teachers in Pakistan.
The program is called “AI Literacy for Faculty Members: Building AI-Ready Institutions.” It will be organised by the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) under HEC.
The training will be held on August 27, 28 and 31, 2026 and September 1, 2026. The sessions will run from 9 AM to 4 PM.
The program will teach faculty members how to use AI in different areas of education. These include curriculum design, teaching, learning, assessment, research and academic administration.
According to HEC, the training will be conducted through smart classrooms at around 100 universities.
