Mobile internet services to be suspended in AJK from tonight

Mobile and internet services will be suspended across Azad Kashmir (AJK) from tonight due to possible law and order situation emerging due to a protest call.

The services will be suspended from tonight till June 12.

For the safety of the general public, the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has issued an advisory for tourists, urging them to avoid travel to the region.

According to the advisory, tourists have been advised to refrain from travelling to or entering Azad Kashmir from June 5 to June 20 due to the protest call scheduled for June 9.

The government has also requested all visitors currently in the region for tourism or other purposes to leave by the evening of June 5 to avoid any inconvenience.

In Muzaffarabad, the Inspector General of Police has called for additional personnel to maintain law and order and handle any potential security situation.

The Inspector General of AJK Police has written to the Chief Secretary requesting the deployment of 14,000 personnel from Pakistan to manage the situation arising from the June 9 call.
