The International Cricket Council has released updated player rankings, with Pakistan’s standings shifting following their defeat in the first test against the West Indies.
According to the released rankings, Mohammad Abbas recorded the biggest gain among Pakistani players, climbing nine places to reach 17th in the test bowlers’ rankings. Captain Babar Azam moved up four places to reach 15th in the Test batting rankings. While wicketkeeper and batter Mohammad Rizwan dropped eight spots and fell out of the top twenty, sliding from 18th to 26th position.
Additionally, Saud Shakeel also lost ground, slipping three places to 23rd, while Salman Ali Agha dropped four spots to 32nd. Australia’s Travis Head remains at the top of the Test batting rankings.
However, Noman Ali held steady at seventh, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the Test bowling rankings.
In ODI rankings, Babar Azam retained sixth place among batters, while Salman Agha held onto 16th position. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell rose to second, and India’s captain Shubman Gill moved up one spot to claim the top position.
Among ODI bowlers, Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi dropped one place to eighth, while Haris Rauf gained a spot to reach 19th. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan retained first place, with Abrar Ahmed staying second.
In T20 batting rankings, Sahibzada Farhan advanced one spot to become the world’s second-best batter, while India’s Ishan Kishan remained top-ranked. Abrar Ahmed held second place among T20 bowlers, with Mohammad Nawaz retaining tenth position; Rashid Khan continued to lead that category.
Saim Ayub kept his second spot among T20 all-rounders, with Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza on top. Although, none of the cricketers from the Pakistan team is featured in the top ten ODI and Test all-rounder rankings.
