Murree tourism gets upgrade: new exciting facilities announced for tourists visiting

Tourists visiting Murree will now have access to modern and quick facilities. The district administration has launched a new “Safe Tourism App” to ensure visitor safety, guidance, and support. This app is being called an important step in the tourism sector.

Murree is one of Pakistan’s most popular hill stations. Every year, millions of tourists come from inside and outside the country to enjoy the weather and snowfall.

Due to increasing tourism in Murree, the administration has decided to introduce modern measures to manage traffic, security, and guidance more effectively.

Murree introduces new tourism app for tourists

According to the district police, the app allows tourists to directly contact the DPO Murree office and other relevant departments with one click.

In case of emergencies, visitors can immediately reach rescue services, traffic police, or local police. This will also reduce response times.

To make sure of the safety of female tourists, a special “Virtual Women Police Station” has been created.

Women can directly register complaints or request help. An AI based live chatbot will provide guidance and answer general questions 24 hours a day.

The app also includes a “Text to DPO” feature. Tourists can send complaints or suggestions through WhatsApp.

Live weather updates, traffic information, alternative routes, and a smart tourism directory are also part of the app. Visitors can access live locations of hotels, hospitals, workshops, and other important places.

The district administration said the aim of this initiative is to make tourism in Murree safe, organised, and modern. Officials added that if the project succeeds, it could also be expanded to other tourist destinations.

Murree roads opened for tourists

Tourists have started to throng Murree following the fresh snowfall, which continued late into the night. Around four inches of snow has been recorded in the latest spell.

Roads are clear, allowing tourists to safely enjoy the winter scenery and snowfall, according to District Police Officer Murree Dr Muhammad Raza Tanveer Supra

Light snowfall continued in Murree till late at night, which later turned into intermittent rain.

According to the DPO, despite the new series of snowfall in Murree, all roads are open for traffic, and tourists can head to Malika Kohsar without fear.
