Naqvi assures uninterrupted medicine supply across Islamabad

Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi has announced that vehicles transporting pharmaceutical supplies will not be stopped anywhere in Islamabad, assuring uninterrupted delivery of medicines across the capital.

In a message posted on X, the minister stated that authorities have been directed to ensure that pharmaceutical vehicles face no hurdles while operating in the city.

He emphasised that the smooth transportation of medicines is a priority, adding that all necessary measures will be taken to facilitate timely delivery and avoid any disruption in healthcare services. The announcement comes as part of efforts to maintain an efficient supply chain for essential medicines in Islamabad.

On the other hand, the Islamabad administration has announced a traffic advisory, with major restrictions to remain in place across the capital.

According to officials, the Red Zone and Extended Red Zone will be completely closed to all types of traffic. Additionally, the Islamabad Expressway from Koral to Zero Point will remain shut for commuters.

Traffic flow on the Srinagar Highway may also be halted intermittently at different times due to security and operational requirements. Authorities have further restricted the entry of all heavy vehicles into Islamabad from any direction or highway.

Transporters and heavy vehicle operators have been advised to avoid travelling towards the capital during these days to prevent inconvenience. Citizens are urged to plan their travel and follow official traffic updates.
