Federal Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Monday held a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During the meeting, they discussed the current security situation in the country and the participation of cricket fans in the Pakistan Super League remaining matches.
Mohsin Naqvi announced that spectators have been allowed to attend all three playoff matches of the Pakistan Super League following approval from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In a message shared on X, Naqvi said he had recently met with the Prime Minister and received the go-ahead for public attendance at the high-stakes fixtures. The development is expected to boost fan engagement and atmosphere as the tournament reaches its final stage.
However, the approval comes with a key condition. According to Naqvi, the Prime Minister emphasised the need for fans to adopt responsible travel practices. Spectators have been strongly encouraged to use public transport or limit fuel consumption when travelling to and from the venues. This directive aligns with the government’s ongoing national austerity measures aimed at conserving resources.
