Naval Chief hails Marka-e-Haq as symbol of national unity, resolve

The Command & Staff Conference of Pakistan Navy commemorated the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, paying tribute to the sacrifices made during the May 2025 conflict.  Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), T Bt, Chief of the Naval Staff, remarked on the historic triumph as an enduring testament to national unity and unwavering resolve to defeat any external aggression with an iron fist.

He expressed this during the Command & Staff Conference concluding session at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad. The forum undertook a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness, ongoing initiatives and upcoming events. Discussions remained focused on aligning naval priorities with evolving regional maritime security imperatives to chart a clear course for operational preparedness across multiple domains of naval warfare. Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), T Bt, Chief of the Naval Staff, and attended by Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders.

During the conference, the Chief of the Naval Staff emphasised maintaining perpetual combat readiness against traditional & non-traditional challenges in the maritime domain. In the backdrop of the ongoing situation in the Middle East, he noted emerging threats in the maritime domain, including freedom of navigation, potential disruption to vital Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs) and a volatile maritime security situation across strategic choke-points. Admiral Naveed Ashraf stressed on acquiring niche and cutting-edge technologies as an absolute strategic necessity for the Pakistan Navy.

The Naval Chief further underscored Pakistan Navy’s pivotal role in ensuring peace, stability and regional maritime security. He highlighted that PN is assuring the maritime community through its presence in GOO.

The Command and Staff Conference is the apex decision-making forum of Pakistan Navy, where the Chief of the Naval Staff, Principal Staff Officers and Field Commanders deliberate on strategic priorities and policies.
