Pakistani students now have a good chance to build international careers through the New Zealand post-study work visa.
This visa will allow students to work in New Zealand for up to three years after finishing their studies and also gives a path to residency.
According to a statement by the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment in Islamabad, international graduates can stay and work in New Zealand after completing their education.
The visa will also help the students to gain work experience and move toward permanent residency.
To qualify for it, the students must complete an approved course from a recognised institution in New Zealand.
Officials said that most students must apply within three months after their student visa expires. However, PhD students can apply within six months. This gives them more time.
In some cases, students who quickly start a higher qualification after finishing their first degree may get up to 12 months to apply. This is especially if their next course is very short.
Applicants must also show they have at least 5,000 New Zealand dollars to cover living costs during their stay.
Officials have also said that this visa helps students gain international work experience and increases their chances of getting permanent residency.
This makes it a strong option for Pakistani students who want to settle and grow their careers abroad.
