The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has issued a travel advisory urging motorists to exercise caution as heavy monsoon rains are forecast to affect large parts of Pakistan from July 24 to July 28.
According to the advisory, widespread rainfall is expected across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sindh, and Balochistan, with authorities warning that the weather could disrupt travel and create hazardous driving conditions.
The NHMP said heavy rain may trigger landslides in mountainous areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while urban flooding is likely in several cities across Punjab and Sindh, increasing the risk of traffic disruptions and road closures.
Motorists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during the adverse weather, comply with traffic regulations, and drive carefully on highways and motorways.
The motorway police also urged travellers to check road and weather conditions before setting out. The latest updates are available through the NHMP helpline (130) and the department’s official social media platforms.

Petrol, diesel prices increased again in Pakistan
The prices of petrol and diesel have been increased once again on Friday. This price increase will be applicable for the next 24 hours, according to the notification.
The government has increased petroleum prices once again. According to the latest notification, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs4.80 per litre. The new price is Rs383.46 per litre.
The price of petrol has also been increased by Rs3.66 per litre. The new price is Rs335.18 per litre. Since the daily fuel pricing system started, fuel prices have changed several times.
With the latest increase, petrol now costs Rs335.18 per litre, while high-speed diesel is priced at Rs383.46 per litre.
On July 18, petrol became Rs5.44 per litre more expensive, while diesel increased by Rs31.05 per litre. On July 21, petrol became 35 paisas cheaper, but diesel increased by Rs5.71 per litre.
On July 22, petrol increased by Rs4.93 per litre and diesel by Rs7.15 per litre. On July 23, petrol became Rs6.39 per litre more expensive, while diesel increased by Rs7.83 per litre.
On July 24, petrol prices increased by Rs4.40 per litre and diesel prices by Rs3.62 per litre.
