PESHAWAR: Security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have killed nine India-backed militant extremists in two separate operations.
According to the ISPR, security forces carried out an operation in Tank after receiving intelligence about the presence of militants. The hideout was targeted effectively, and seven militants were killed in an intense exchange of fire.
In Lakki Marwat, another intelligence-based operation was conducted where two militants were shot dead during a gun battle. Explosives and weapons were also recovered from their possession.
The ISPR said the dead militants were involved in attacks on security forces, law-enforcement personnel and the targeted killing of innocent civilians. Search and clearance operations are underway to eliminate other India-sponsored militants in the region.
The ISPR added that under the Vision Azm-e-Istehkam, security forces and law-enforcement agencies will continue their campaign against terrorism
