Pakistani actor Noor Hassan has become the centre of the debate on social media due to his remarks about Pakistan after leaving the country.
Hassan’s remark has been criticised for seeming to downplay the integral role played by his country in developing his career.
Hassan gained fame through his role in the popular drama show Humsafar; in the course of his career, he has also acted in a number of other notable dramas on television screens.
Recently, he was also praised by audiences for his acting in the drama Noor Jahan, which further enhanced his presence in the Pakistani entertainment industry.
Hassan, after his departure from Pakistan, posted a reel on Instagram and declared his departure.
But what really caught a lot of eyes was the caption of the post. He scoffed at them and wrote the caption as: “apna mulk chor kar samaj aya asal maza dusre mulk mai hai.”

The comment sparked a lot of chatter on social media.
The actor’s comment sparked discussions among critics and fans regarding his decision to make such a sweeping statement about Pakistan, especially after rising to fame and success in the Pakistani entertainment industry.
Some users pointed out that the choice to move abroad is a personal choice, but suggesting that Pakistan is a place where one can only attain “peace” once one leaves the country was disrespectful.
Hassan’s witty delivery has sparked another debate about whether public figures should be more responsible when speaking, particularly if their career took off due to acting or performing in Pakistan.
The comment was not meant to be a constructive criticism of the nation’s issues, but seemed to be a provocative social media reel, opening the door for criticism but not discussion.
