Omoda & Jaecoo to unveil J6 REEV in Pakistan

Omoda Jaecoo J6 REEV

Omoda & Jaecoo have sparked excitement by teasing a new vehicle for the Pakistani market with a “Coming Soon!” post on social media, suggesting another model is set to join their local lineup this month.

Omoda & Jaecoo have teased a new vehicle for the Pakistani market, taking to social media, saying that the vehicle is “Coming Soon!”

Although the teaser initially resembles the Jaecoo J6, the fully electric version of the SUV is already available in Pakistan. The real hint came from the hashtags #REEV and “REEVolution,” indicating that the company is preparing to introduce the Jaecoo J6 REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle).

Launch confirmed for July

PakWheels contacted Omoda & Jaecoo Pakistan, and the company confirmed that the teased model is indeed the Jaecoo J6 REEV. The SUV will be offered in a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) configuration, with its official launch planned for July, although the exact unveiling date has yet to be announced.

What makes the J6 REEV different?

Unlike the all-electric J6 currently on sale, the REEV version combines an electric motor with a 1.5-litre petrol-powered range extender, allowing the battery to recharge while driving and significantly increasing the vehicle’s overall driving range.

The model is already available in several international markets, including Thailand (as the Jaecoo 6T REEV) and China (under the iCAR 03T REEV name), while Malaysia is expected to receive it soon.

Performance and range

The rear-wheel-drive Jaecoo J6 REEV is powered by a 33.67 kWh battery pack, producing 252 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. It offers an electric-only driving range of approximately 190 km (NEDC), while the combined driving range reaches around 800 km. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

Features

Based on the international version, the J6 REEV is expected to offer a premium equipment list, including:

  • 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • 12-speaker Infinity sound system
  • Powered front seats with massage function
  • Adjustable rear-seat backrests
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Adaptive LED matrix headlights
  • Chery’s Golden Range Extension Technology
  • 15 advanced driver assistance (ADAS) features

Competition in Pakistan

The Jaecoo J6 REEV will enter Pakistan’s growing range-extended EV segment, competing with models such as the Forthing Friday REEV and the Deepal S05 REEV. All three SUVs feature similar powertrains, battery capacities, and extended driving ranges, targeting buyers looking for an alternative to conventional electric vehicles.

Pricing still under wraps

While Omoda & Jaecoo have officially confirmed the launch, the company says pricing has not yet been finalised. More details, including the official price and booking information, are expected to be announced during the vehicle’s launch later this month.
