Omoda is ready to launch its new variant, ‘Omoda O7’, in Pakistan.
A new plug-in hybrid SUV is expected to enter Pakistan’s growing electrified vehicle market later this year, as the Omoda O7 is all set for its launch.
The variant, known as the Omoda O7 in China and marketed internationally as the Omoda 7.
It was recently spotted at the Beijing Auto Show.
Omoda O7 falls in the C-segment SUV category, which has seen increased competition in recent months.
The Omoda O7 features a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system, allowing it to run on electric power for shorter distances while relying on a petrol engine for longer journeys.
It is equipped with an 18.3 kWh battery pack, similar in size to that of the Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV.
According to the manufacturer, the vehicle offers an electric-only range of around 100 kilometres.
When combining both petrol and electric power, the total driving range is claimed to exceed 1,000 kilometres on a full charge and tank.
However, actual performance may vary depending on local driving conditions, including traffic and road quality.
The version displayed at the event included several high-end features, such as a sliding infotainment screen, a premium audio system, wireless charging, and a panoramic roof.
Interior finishes appeared to include Alcantara-style materials.
Based on previous launches by the brand, most of these features are expected to be retained in the Pakistani variant.
The arrival of the Omoda O7 comes at a time when Pakistan’s SUV market is seeing a steady increase in hybrid and electrified options.
Over the past year, several models have been introduced, including the Jaecoo J7 PHEV, Haval H6 hybrid variant, MG HS hybrid, and larger models such as the GWM Tank 500.
Rising fuel costs, partly linked to global tensions such as the Iran–US tensions, have also contributed to growing interest in hybrid vehicles.
These models allow drivers to rely more on electric power in urban settings, while maintaining the flexibility of a conventional engine.
Pricing for the Omoda O7 has not yet been announced. However, industry observers expect it to be positioned close to other mid-size PHEV SUVs in the market, depending on final specifications.
