The preparations for Pakistan’s upcoming white ball series officially started on Friday. The preparations will be a training camp of 1 week in duration. It commenced at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
A total of 28 players will be reporting to the camp. The focus in the camp will remain on skill development, fitness and overall match readiness ahead of three match ODI-series.
The details reveal that the players on the opening day took part in one-on-one sessions with the coaches in NCA on the opening day.
Assessments based on fitness and skills were also featured in the camp. They were aimed at evaluating the form of players and conditioning.
The medical staff of Pakistan Cricket Board also carried out a review of players’ fitness and physical parameters to ensure they are fully prepared for the demanding series.
The preparatory camp will be seven days long and will continue until May 21. The training camp will feature intensive training sessions with practice matches.
The NCA coaching staff during the camp, will work in close coordination with Pakistan’s white-ball management to improve players’ performances and fine tune strategies before the Australia series starts.
Australia will be hosted by Pakistan for the upcoming three One-day Internationals between May 30 and June 4.
The venues for the matches are in Lahore and Rawalpindi. All games are scheduled to begin at 4:30pm local time and tosses will take place at 4 pm.
The players participating in the camp include Aamir Jamal, Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Akif Javed, Arafat Minhas, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, Sahibzada Farhan, Sufiyan Muqeem and Usman Khan among others, as Pakistan begin final preparations for the home assignment against Australia.
