Pakistan not to become part of Abraham accord

ISLAMABAD: The spokesperson of the Foreign Office of Pakistan, Tahir Hussain Andrabi, told the media on Sunday that Pakistan values the importance of the welfare and betterment of the Venezuelan people.

He said that obeying the UN charter and international laws is essential for resolving this crisis, and this must be implemented immediately.

In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that Pakistan is greatly concerned regarding the ongoing tense conditions between the USA and Venezuela.

Tensions are getting high, and there is a need to de-escalate to restore order, he said.

Furthermore, Tahir Andrabi added that Pakistan is closely monitoring the situation in Venezuela. Each and every possible measure is being taken for the security and safety of Pakistani citizens living in Venezuela.

UN Security Council Meeting

Pakistan had earlier in December raised the concern in the United Nations (UN) Security Council regarding Venezuela and the USA.

Moreover, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, Usman Jadoon, told the UN Security Council, “We firmly believe that the current trajectory serves no one’s interest.”

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that the country urges restraint and de-escalation to end the crisis in Venezuela.
