Web desk: Cold and foggy conditions continued to grip Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and several other parts of the country.
Pakistan weather
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said the country is likely to experience cold and dry weather in the coming days.
It warned that fog is expected to intensify across the plains during morning and nighttime hours.
According to the department, most regions will remain cold and dry, whereas hilly and mountainous areas will face severe cold, particularly during the night.
Dense fog also affected air operations at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, where runway visibility dropped to 150 metres.
Islamabad weather
According to the PMD forecast, Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to experience cold and partly cloudy weather over the next 24 hours. With the possibility of rain accompanied by strong winds.
Punjab weather
In Punjab, rain with gusty winds and thundershowers is likely in Attock, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, and Layyah.
While Murree and the Galiyat may experience rain along with snowfall in mountainous areas.
Light rain or drizzle is expected in parts of Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Multan, Jhang, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Toba Tek Singh.
KP weather
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, cold and partly cloudy conditions are expected across most districts.
Rain with strong winds and snowfall in mountainous regions is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Buner, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Haripur.
As well as in Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Bannu, Karak, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, and Waziristan.
Sindh weather
The Met Office forecast for Sindh indicates cold and dry weather across most districts, with partly cloudy conditions in upper areas.
Fog is expected in Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mohenjo-Daro, and nearby regions during the morning and night hours.
Balochistan weather
In Balochistan, cold and partly cloudy weather is expected, with the likelihood of rain accompanied by strong winds, thunderstorms, and snowfall in the mountainous areas of Chagai, Noshki, Washuk, Panjgur, Kech, Gwadar, Kalat, Mastung, Quetta, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Ziarat, Harnai, Chaman, Musakhel, and Zhob.
Similar weather conditions, including rain, strong winds, and snowfall in higher elevations, are also forecast for Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the PMD added.
